| Integration of Medical & Behavioral Healthcare
Adult and Child developed two separate partnerships with Edinburgh/Trafalgar Family Health Center and Johnson Memorial Hospital to co-locate behavioral health and primary health care services in the Johnson County facilities. These partnerships have greatly improved the access and overall quality of integrated behavioral and primary healthcare.
In October of 2008, Countyline Family Health Center opened to the public on the South side of Indianapolis and was made possible through a partnership between Adult and Child, Edinburgh/Trafalgar Family Health Center, and Community Health Network. Affirmative Business Enterprises
Together, Adult and Child and Centerstone of Indiana have joined to operate Red Oak Industries, which is a business entity focused on improving access to competitive employment opportunities to adults with disabilities through the start-up and development of revenue seeking service lines.
RISP (IUPUI)
The ACT Center received a prestigious Interventions and Practice Research Infrastructure Program grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. This very competitive federal grant is designed to build research infrastructure in the community mental health world and to examine ways to assess and improve the recovery orientation of ACT services.
Mental Health Treatment Study
This nationally financed research study assesses the extent to which people receiving Social Security Disability due to serious mental illness may gain competitive employment, and leave the SSD rolls, as a result of provision of effective supported employment and behavioral health services.
Partners in Family Research and Practice
The general scope of this collaboration between Indiana Universitys Center for Adolescent and Family Studies and Adult and Child Center is to pursue research that helps improve interpersonal, behavioral, psychological and school functioning of youth and families by supporting evidence based practices in the mental health, child welfare, education, corrections, and juvenile justice systems. We will achieve this through research, program development, and community based implementation of Evidence Based Practices.
Homelessness Initiative
Adult and Child is actively involved in a collaboration of Indianapolis area homeless shelters, and providers, social service agencies dedicated to assessing and improving the access and quality of mental health services to the homeless population. Adult and Child has provided training and support on motivational interviewing and assessing mental illness to many local shelter staff. St Francis Hospital
Adult and Child has partnered with St Francis Hospitals to provide counseling and behavioral health care services in an outpatient setting, thus allowing Adult and Child to better focus their expertise on treating seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children and the further development of evidence based practices. InteCare is a provider owned Behavioral Healthcare service delivery and Management Company who provides employers and other organizations cost-effective, high quality, accessible, behavioral health benefit programs and benefit management services. The programs range from direct service arrangements to development and management of network based services in both the Public and Private sector. Parent organizations include Adult and Child Center, BehaviorCorp, Gallahue Mental Health Center, and Midtown Mental Health Center. |
