With care and compassion, we provide a safety net of support and resources for individuals experiencing mental health crisis through a continuum of care – someone to talk to, someone to respond, a safe place to go.
SOMEONE TO TALK TO
24/7 Mental Health Crisis Support Line | (877) 882-5122
Our team will talk to any caller regardless of their client status.
What to Expect:
- A team member will ask a few questions to determine how to best support the caller while keeping everyone safe.
- The team will work with the caller to create a safety plan. If further support is needed beyond the phone call, the Mobile Crisis Team will be sent, or the team will work to connect the caller to the appropriate resources.
- Following the call, the team will check in with the caller to provide options for additional support and/or services.
SOMEONE TO RESPOND
Mobile Crisis Response Team
The Mobile Crisis Team can respond to individuals in Johnson and Marion counties. Persons outside of those counties will be connected with the appropriate resources.
What to Expect:
- A clinician and/or peer support professional will arrive on location to assess the needs of the individual in crisis.
- The team will work with individual to provide care and support while avoiding unnecessary law enforcement involvement, ED use and hospitalization.
A SAFE PLACE TO GO
Adult & Child Crisis Center | 8320 Madison Ave, Indianapolis
The Crisis Center is a safe, comfortable, monitored care environment that provides adults (18+ years old) with mental health, addictions and primary care services, as well as access to an on-site behavioral health prescriber. Services will be available to immediate walk-ins, persons brought by family or friends, and those referred by healthcare providers, mobile crisis teams and/or first responders.
What to Expect:
- Utilizing a “Living Room” approach to assessment and stabilization, persons treated at the Crisis Center will receive individualized support and services from a peer recovery specialist, masters-level therapist, and a psychiatric prescriber who can prescribe medication, if necessary, in a calming therapeutic setting.
- With consent, the team will work with individual to create a plan for on-going services if additional care is recommended.

Do I have to be established as a patient or client of Adult & Child to utilize crisis services?
No. Our team will provide support and care for any caller or visitor, regardless of their client status.
What crisis services are available for minors?
The Mental Health Crisis Support Line and Mobile Crisis Response teams are designed to help those of all ages; however, Crisis Center provide treatment for adults only (age 18 and over). Minors between the ages of 10 and 17 in need of a safe place to go, are encouraged to reach out to our Safe Place team at 317-275-8840.
If I visit the Crisis Center, how long do I have to stay?
The Crisis Center is an out-patient, voluntary program. There is no obligation to stay for any period of time if you are visiting for treatment. You are free to go whenever you choose.
Do I have the option to set up on-going behavioral or mental health treatment?
Yes. The Crisis Team will help coordinate on-going services for behavioral, mental and primary health care if you so choose. You are not required to set up on-going treatment in order to receive help through the Crisis Support Line, Mobile Crisis Response Team or Crisis Center.
